Print Magazine

Fifth issue’s theme: Addiction 

Issue 4 release date: April 2024.

Deadline for issue 5 submissions: 31st August 2024.

Please submit:

  • Up to 5 flash fiction pieces, between 50-1,000 words (or one short story up to 2,500 words);
  • Up to 5 poems of no longer than 50 lines each;
  • Up to 5 Comic strips/illustrations/graphic works which tell a story, or no more than 9 A4 pages.
  • Up to 9 photography images which tell a story.

To feature in our magazine, please:

  1. Email: submissions@tafader-publishing.co.uk;
  2. Add: ‘Magazine Submission’ as the subject;
  3. Attach a Word document of your short story or poetry piece, or a JPEG for any graphic works and photography (please ensure images are of 300ppi quality);
  4. Please format Word documents with size 12, Times New Roman or Arial font, and with double spacing. Poems can be single spaced.
  5. Include the name you would like to be acknowledged by, a short bio (Max 10 words, not including your name), and one social media handle (Instagram or X are recommended).
By submitting, you are granting us:
  • The right to publish your work digitally and in print, in our magazine, in perpetuity. 
  • First publishing rights. Once published (in print or online), you are free to publish your work elsewhere.
  • The right to use segments of your work to advertise CandleLit journal/magazine (advertisements are via social media posts).

All works submitted are considered for CandleLit Online.

All contributors will receive a free copy of the magazine.

We pay our contributors £2 per one-third of a page taken up.

Online Journal

*Due to staff shortages, online journal submissions are currently closed*

For our online journal, we accept:

  • Up to 5 flash fiction pieces, between 50-1,000 words;
  • Up to 5 poems of no longer than 50 lines each;
  • No more than 9 A4 pages of Comic strips/graphic works/photography and other visual artforms which tell a story.

To feature on our online journal, please:

  1. Email: submissions@tafader-publishing.co.uk;
  2. Add: ‘Online Journal Submission’ as the subject;
  3. Attach a Word document of your flash fiction or poetry piece, or a JPEG for any graphic works (if you would like the art to be considered for the print magazine, please ensure images are of 300ppi quality). Please format Word documents with size 12, Times New Roman or Arial font, and with double spacing. Poems can be single spaced.
  4. Include the name you would like to be acknowledged by, a short bio or comment on your work, and your social media handle (optional) (Instagram and Twitter are recommended).

  • First digital publishing rights. Once published, you are free to publish your work elsewhere.

We are working towards paying our contributors, but can’t currently do so.
